Just no. HGSS gym theme was one of the few things I liked about that game (others being the fact that you could mark the map when doing a nuzlocke), and Pt's was lovely.

I couldn't even remember what it sounded like until I looked it up on YouTube.

There's barely any melody to it for like the first 30 seconds and even then it's nothing compared to other gym themes.

Thing is though I still like it

I honestly think this was originally intended to be the Gym Leader theme, but then it was given to that silly bitch while a way weaker remix was thrown at the other useless[/spoilers] leaders.

C'mon, the Successor theme would make a great Gym Leader theme, right?

I agree with you OP. The gymbattle theme doesn't fit. It is too slow paced and is too bassy. Has to be more intense like gen 1/2/3/4/5's.

None of them are the 'worst'. Some are just better than others.

X and Y's just has atmosphere rather than a tune, which really works. Through playing X and Y several times I've found that the music really helps set the scene in Gym battles. It fits the 3D environment and importance of the match.

Except for a couple of towns, XY has the worst soundtrack overall.
Although the background music in some of the online features is kinda catchy until you've been hearing them for like 3 hours straight.
