You move through small leagues and games and unlock different venues.
Each time you get to a new league a new pokemon will be impressed and want to join your team but at any time you can buy new players.
I think maybe having 11 players might be a bit too much for pokemon unless they make it as good as the actual FIFA games.

Just remembered there was a mario game like this. Mario Strikers Charged. Was actually a decent game.
Also pokemon would have special skills ie. Blaziken would have a turbo speed to beat defenders. Alakazam could teleport around the pitch. You have to build up a meter to get these special skills by completing passes or scoring goals etc
We need to talk to gamefreak about this and get them to do it
