Pallet Town made me want to leave because being unable to enter the tall grass made me feel trapped. Having to come all the way back with that fucking parcel didn't help either.
New Bark Town felt cool and contemporary, but not cozy. Elm's lab music, the fact that he seemed to be away from his family all of the time, the fact that my single mom asks me for money, the modern windmills in HGSS, the thug breaking into Elm's lab. It feels like what would happen if college liberals ran a town.
Littleroot felt fucking comfy. Freshly moved in, homely pop&daughter lab. Being able to overstep the route-blocking munchkin to save the day made me feel nice.
Twinleaf didn't even have a fucking lab. It was just a few houses, one of which had an ADHD child. That lake was too small to be cool. I felt like it was just a man-made lake put in so people felt all nature-ish, but was probably dirty and neglected.
Nuvema was cozy in that it would've been fantastic to grow up in as a kid. Friends my age that aren't bullies, a fair amount of open space, seems nice.
Aspertia City seemed like it had a LOT going on, considering that a gym was built. Our protag was also probably a rich kid, considering we owned a house in the city rather than an apartment. Sounds fun, but not COMFY.
Vaniville was a gated community outside of a small city. Again, for rich kids. Similar feels to Aspertia.
I'm going to say Nuvema is comfiest town to grow up in, Aspertia as most enjoyable place to live as a young adult, and Littleroot as comfiest overall.
