It would need to get a pretty big buff to be a strong attacker sitting at base 85. It also doesnt help that it would need a strong defensive buff with 70hp/65def/85spdef 6weakness defensives making any decently strong mon able to ohko.if not any mon with priority can come in and ko against dat 65def.Also if you wanted to make a more valid comparasion with sweeper dragons, you should compare it to Zara x who severely outclasses scepts pyschical sweeper set.

Same here. I'd even fucking say cut SpAtk to compensate for the Atk Scep's needed since the Gen IV split. He and Venusaur are my favorites, #003 got his great Mega boost, the first Grass/Dragon type deserves it as well.

Mega Sceptile would need to have 175 base speed with max EV/IV and beneficial nature to outspeed a +1 max speed Charizard. This would mean that it has a 55 speed boost out of the 100 it's going to have. it needs some of those points in every other stat. the obvious solution would be giving treecko dragon dance (which it may have now)

I'm not optimistic about M-Sceptile getting enough of an Attack boost to put it on par with Garchomp. And even if it does, it's not going to be able to set up as easily as the Chomp due to its shit defensive typing, shit bulk, and relatively unimpressive STAB coverage making it much easier to check, counter, or wall than the Blue Bruiser.

I like Sceptile, but I doubt he's going to be a force in singles like Garchomp is. Grass is a very mediocre offensive type compared to Ground. He also still doesn't have anything that can help him against Talonflame except for prediction and Rock Slide.

As others have said, Lightningrod was clearly chosen so that he'd be a great partner in doubles. In singles (and the fact that they seem to like associating Leaf Storm with him) makes me think the idea is to make him a hit-and-run sort of Pokemon, which would be a lot better if he could learn U-Turn or something.
