>>19655148>I had sworn the megazards were at least going to be used thanks to blacksmith + torchYou waste a turn doing nothing just to summon a Mega Charizard and 300 damage is completely unnecessary when there's a total of like 6 Pokemon that even hit 200+. There are way better uses for those trainers, like Rayboar, which is why they're good.
>and if pulled correctly megaluke looks menacing. But Lucario EX himself is already incredibly good, has the power to take down most things without slowing down your deck by taking a turn to set up. All Mega Lucario adds to it is like 40 power on a deck dancing around adding extra damage. Two strong energies, Machamps, or a Stadium and a muscle band hits it to 180 already, killing 90% of the metagame.
>It's weird to read none is viable. Some can be screwed around with in fun decks like Quadruple Floette+ Mega Venusaur gives you a 300 HP wall that you can heal with herb energy.
The problem with them is the turn ending thing. The game is really fast and it fucks you over skipping even a single turn mid to late game at competitive levels. It's not even like Tropical Beach where it refreshes you for next turn after using all your resources. You just finish off using your resources this turn and end. Now you're inherently behind while you have to spend next turn refreshing yourself which usually uses up your supporter that turn on just that.
>Also do you mean grass decks such as genesect + virizion + that new special grass energy?Yeah mostly since they're not hit too hard by the assumed rotation at all. Stuff like draw power shiftry sees some use as well.
