Why is the Special variant superior to the Physical? If it's about Burn halving Attack, can't Swords Dance patch that up? It can't boost its Special Attack either outside of Weakness Policy.

Typically when I use a physical mon I run Adamant just because I don't need the Special Attack. But Brave would work also since you don't need Aegislash for speed. Heck, it's probably better than Adamant in this situation.

STAB Steel is just to hit fairies harder than shadow ball, but Ghost + Fighting makes perfect offensive coverage.
You can also replace shadow sneak for a HP

Quiet is outclassed by Brave SD in terms of raw power. It just needs to watch out for burns. Shouldn't be a problem if you have a cleric on your team or a Fire-type to absorb Will-o-wisp.

I've gotten more out of using a Sub Special set than I have out of ever using Physical. I didn't really use Physical much, so I plan to go back to it soon, but Special, despite being predictable, can be quite fun. Common as fuck, but when you set up that sub, the opponent is kind of stuck.

I run WP SD Aeigislash.
A lot of fun, I've swept teams because I got off two SDs and WP activated, kill with Sacred Sword or Shadow Sneak.

Honestly, it's whatever you need him for on your team. I wanted a bulky physical Poke that had access to a priority move.
Here we go.

Ah holy shit. There are so many sets, I don't know which to run.
I've been deciding between the one you just said and Brave Shadow Ball/Sacred Sword one.
How vulnerable is Aegislash to suckerpunch after activating WP? I tend to have a problem with Mawiles.

modest means you can sub in front of most other aegis, forcing them to king's shield next turn while they break your sub, and also lets you sub in front of amoonguss

min speed means you aren't undersped by some normally slower stuff, like azumarill and m-maw, letting you stay in shield forme longer

SubToxic is the best set.

There's almost no reason to run it over other sets.

At the very least, there's no reason to not use Shadow Ball on any set.
