Hola /vp/oreans

I currently have Hidden Power Ditto with me at the ready. Ditto's that have perfect spreads for certain hidden powers.

like i have HP Ground Ditto

What im wondering is how do I breed off Hidden Power on other mons using them? How do I check that the IV's are correct and whatnot? Can someone give me the rundown im a little new to the whole Hidden Power breeding in X/Y process.

you breed them the same way as perfect iv mons but you need to check the offspring's hidden power in addition to their ivs more or less
Destiny knot and everstone still apply
Anistar has the HP checker

Power Item stuff are used only for ev horde training. You check your pokemon IVs in kiloude.

Well, you can use power items to ensure your specific Hidden Power IV(s) pass down (ie, attack and defense at 30 or any other combination of lowered stats), but you can also use destiny knot if you want to flip a few coins to get the hidden power ivs alongside other perfects.

IV checker is in Kiloude city pokemon center, Hidden power checker is in Anistar as aforementioned. Someone more experienced might be able to help you out further.

There's no site to check IV's like down to the number? I feel it'd really help to get it down correctly. I heard something about using the battle institute but im not sure?

Take a pokemon that has no EVs into the battle institute and get the stats at level 50 (institute autolevels it up for you)
Then, plug the given stats into an IV calculator on any number of sites to get the exact numbers. It's tedious but if the IV checker ingame and the Anistar checker for hidden power are giving the right output, this i sthe way to make sure you have the highest possible IVs for that hidden power.

Ahh thank you! So if I stick a Hidden Power Ground Ditto with a Venonat chances are, at some point, i'll be getting a Hidden Power Ground Venonat with all the right stats right?

Yeah sooner or later. Just treat the required IVs as though they're perfects and pass them along the same way.
ie: 31/30/30/31/31 spread can be achieved with perfect HP spread ditto + desired parent given enough time. If it takes too long to get the exact perfect spread then you can settle for a lower IV in certain stats, as long as it maintains the same hidden power type (obviously)

I can try.

>Parent should have egg moves wanted, proper nature, plus as many perfect IVs as possible, as in normal breeding routine
>Give Everstone to pass the nature desired (more often than not, the non-ditto Parent)
>Give Destiny Knot to Ditto
>Hatch a ton of eggs
>Check IVs on each child in Kiloude city
>Those with IVs that "can't be beat" in all but the reduced categories to give a particular hidden power type should then be taken to Anistar City to check their Hidden power type.
>If desired hidden power type, you now have your final product. Thus ends the bike simulator.

Optional:

It's considerably more complicated without a hidden power ditto (involving power items and so forth), but as a side note N's obtainable pokemon all have 30IVs across the board which are useful for hidden power breeding if you have access to them.

That should be all, it's not complex so much as tedious, but it's a little more advanced than conventional breeding.

Oh, and you can swap out the non-ditto parent if you get a better one in the process obviously. Basic breeding logic applies.
