If it had have actually logically progressed the way it was going with Goomy and Sliggoo, I would have been happy with Dragon/Bug, but as is, Dragon is the correct typing for it.

It would get a resistance to Fighting and Ground, but it would also gain a weakness to SR and Flying, and with Bravest Bird and Mega-Bug still around, that could prove rather detrimental over all

Flygon seems the more logical choice for a pairing such as Bug/Dragon. Goodra DOES seem like a good fit for Dragon/Poison, but that's what we already have Dragalge for. Not to mention Dragalge has a hidden ability just waiting to terrorize the Fairy types out there.

I've given up on goodra, design is a disappointment, typing is a disappoitment and what the hell were they even thinking with that stat distribution, adding poison or water to it's typing would make sence, but we all know that gamefreak hates to retcon typing unless a completely new new type is added (steel, fairy)

So out of all the secondary types suggested (Bug/Poison/Water/Fairy), I think Fairy would be the most useful competitively while not being too thematically correct since it would trade a dragon immunity for 2 obscure weaknesses.

Water would be the second most useful competitive wise while also remaining somewhat thematically correct since it only gives it 2 weaknesses barring Freeze-Dry.

And Bug would be the third most useful one competitive while being the most thematically correct. Mainly because it trades a Fire resistance and Flying and Rock weakness for Fighting and Ground resistance.

Poison would be as useful competitively as Bug while also being as thematically correct as Bug is. Mainly because it trades a Fairy weakness for a Psychic and, more notably, Ground weakness.

Plus Dragon/Fairy would've made it beautifully defensive as far as typing goes. Gives it more reason to be specially offensive if it has moonblast, and doesn't fuck up the old rule of Psuedo Legendaries being dual typed, one type being immune to something. Now Goodra, the defensive one, is the only one who can't switch in for free on at least one given type.

If you guys want to consider the creature it's based on; the Lou Carcolh for it typing, here's what it's known for:

Snaring out tentacles and abducting comely youths to feed on.

It was blamed for the abductions of several young women in Hastingues, which were more than likely to have just been murder-rapes by the local thugs.

So going by its mythology it could actually be dark typed if it didn't look so doofy. Fairy in this sense probably works pretty well. As would Poison and Bug.

Water works mainly because of its appearance and it being a slug dragon, but it does ignore what it's based on entirely.

In defense for being a water type, the Lou Carcolh spent all its time in underground caverns. 90% of those were underwater as far as Pokemon has gone. You could make a case for it.

I'm not just opposed to water subtyping for its lore/appearance or whatever, but because water is still the most common type. More than normal.

Goodra is the closest thing to an incubus that Pokemon has in its dex - as in a creature that was made up to be blamed for rape (and murder on top of that in this case).

It's funny how long it took the mods to come around and clean up the thread. Never have I seen them so late. I'd say it was almost 24 hours.

Don't know why I got temp-blocked for my pic though. The only thing inappropriate about it was the text, nothing visually inappropriate akin to "NWS or Furry".
