Haven't got a 3ds so I missed Pokemon xy, ruby/sapphire were always my favorite so I'd like to play the remake.

I'm gonna need a 3ds, but not sure which version to get as I don't follow Nintendo much.

Are there going to be any bundles/deals?
Is there any reason for 3ds prices to go down from now to ruby/sapphire remakes?
Have I missed much by missing x/y
