Why do you like pokemon? What keeps you coming back game after game? Are you considering coming back at all?

I don't know, I don't know, and yes.

It means something to me, but I'm not sure what. Some deep inner part of my psyche enjoys the fuck out of this game for kids, and I'm willing to indulge it.

Probably because I like collecting stuff, so I just keep coming back. Took a break across all the fifth gen stuff, though, and even the latter half of the fourth gen. Kinda regret it, since playing Black now is quite enjoyable. Y got me back into it, though. I still think a lot of the Pokemon names are terrible puns (fuck puns, seriously), and that 90% of Pokemon is terrible cheese, but it has to be one of the most accessible JRPGs (SRPGs?) ever, so there's that.

I took a break after gen 3 until 6. Came back because I needed an RPG and I've never really stopped playing pokemon (always did nuzlocke or w.e.)

Pokemon to me is a hobby, a past time, and a fun game. It's competitive, yet still relaxed.

And one day I will play it with my kids. As I never plan to stop playing it.

I think partly nostalgia (I entered the series when it had only 151 Pokémon) and partly because I enjoy the games.
Gen V 'saved' me from disliking the series.

The adventure, simplicity, and the replay value.

I honestly didn't for a few generations (no time). But I keep coming back to see what they've done to my childhood, a lot of good, and a lot of bad.

Pokemon means a return to innocent time of wonder and mystery. It's an escape.
