This is false if you run Modest Mega Zam, which is faster and strong.

Besides, LO Alakazam is absolute trash. It's only good as a Sashed revenge killer, and a bunch of other things are better revenge killers. And Trace is a pretty cool ability.

Mega Zam is better than normal Zam, it's just that neither are any good.

Mega Zam is essentially the same thing, and in Priority: The Metagame, it's fucking terrible, both are. I'm saying running normal zam is much better

LO Alakazam doesn't use Sash so it doesn't really need Magic Guard. It doesn't get recoil from Life Orb but it's honestly not going to last that long. So Trace is a better ability, and it can do stuff like trace Lando-I's Sheer Force, Scolipede's Speed Boost, Dragonite's Multiscale, etc. For any set that doesn't use Sash, it's just a better ability.

Trace is pretty gud on Battle Spot where you can Trace Mega Moms Parental Bond, but Mega Zam isn't a very good user of it seeing as it dies to a single Sucker Punch/Return anyways.

Then again you could try running Encore and Substitute on that thing and try to PP stall Mega Mom's Sucker Punches, but that's quite a risky strategy.
