Hi /vp/ so finally one of my friends fell into Pokemon.

He is playing Crystal (following my suggestion, because he didn't wanted to play Red/Blue) but he is looking into FRGL.

Early last year I started Sapphire since I never completed any Gen3 game. I got like 5 hours into it and stoped. I have two questions.

Can I trade/battle between RS and FRGL? Should I continue Sapphire even thou the remakes are so close?

I still don't have a 3DS but as soon as I get a job/find it cheaper enough I will get one.

In any case of getting the remake my option is Omega Ruby so I will be getting the complete experience.

In 2003 I started Ruby and hated it, I started Sapphire in case of remakes.

You can, but IIRC you need to get super far into FRLG (deep into post-game) to be able to trade/battle with RS.

And definitely continue with Sapphire. I actually just started over my Sapphire to get in one more journey before the remakes.

My friend is super obsessive and can take a lot of repetitiveness, he plays LOL and Minecraft so you get where he is coming from.

Later I will need battling advice, this is pleb tier battling so there will be legendaries and all sorts of shit.

You don't need to do the postgame to battle if but you do in order to trade if I remember right.

What is a good team to win all the time against casuals?

I'm pretty casual myself but I got you guys to train me, preferably something that can be put together in Sapphire without trading. As I said the will use legendaries.
