To me it sounds like there is one long squishy, cartoony sound effect in the background, being distorted by each of the cries as they play (bar a couple of obvious examples).

Am cant be the only one hearing it this way. Why is such lazy "remastering" allowed?

I absolutely hated the cry "remastering" in XY. I seriously hope they reconsider just reverting the cries back to normal in future games. I've noticed an overall drop in quality of cries since gen V in the first place, I would like it if GF did not under prioritize cry design.

I also am aware that I'm probably the only person that really cares that much about it.

Seriously the only poke that should sound like that is porygon. Everything else should have a real animals call edited to fit the pokemon

I haven't encountered very many Kanto Pokemon in X yet (mostly because I'm lazy), but holy fuck they sound like absolute shit.
