I would agree in the case of Ash, Misty, and Brock. Since they all had legit back and forth. Ash would call Misty a bitch (not literally, but you know what I'm saying), Misty would call Ash an idiot, and Brock would get on them both (they would get on him as well).
With Best Wishes it was just Iris being a bitch for no apparent reason, other than the subjective view some people have that "she didn't know how to properly get along with people." and Ash and Cilan wouldn't really do anything about it.
tl;dr Conflict in a group is more entertaining overall within a group as long as it has legit back and forth...if not, as was the case of Best Wishes, then it's probably the worse dynamic you can have.
