I never really thought that much of the battle when I first played Gold as a kid let alone still think it's amazing or anything. I'll honestly never see the big deal about it.

I also will never understand why people make such a big deal over Whitney's Miltank.

I extremely loved this battle
Competing with that red haired prick the whole game and as he slowly starts treating his pokemon better you pair up with him to face the 8th gym leader and the Pokemon League Champion. Fucking awesome

The first was THE best fight in the main series so far, bar none, end of story, you suck if you disagree. The second was at least interesting from both a gameplay and story perspective, neither of which can be claimed about Gold versus Red.

for me personally, the rival battle every game (atleast i think every one had it) right before you enter the elite four at the very end of victory road
gen 3 specifically, wiped many times there on my first runs and even wiped once on a nuzlocke
>team fainted, low health, pp, statused
>very little items cause im not a little bitch that uses those shits
>one last battle more challenging than everything you have faced so far in the game right before you can make it to the end to heal

It was pretty fucking good tbh. I wasn't a huge fan of Gen V but B/W's first E4 was great.
