I posted in one of these threads a few weeks ago about getting my shiny charm and going for a female shiny Charmander for the hell of it. 6 shiny males and thousands of eggs later I finally got it. The missing speed stat is 29. I'm quite pleased.
I also managed to get a shiny Marill with 5IVs and 27 speed. Going for a Misdreavus now.

The thing is that I will use horde and safari shones in competitive situations and am definitely happy with any shiny I get. Some people have their preferred methods. Mine is safari hunting, but hatching a pentaperfect, hidden ability, 4 egg move shiny is quite satisfying.

Bulky Talonflame with leftovers, 252 EVs in special defense or defense, 252 in HP, 4 in attack, brave bird, roost, bulk up, and filler.
Gale wings guarantees priority and it's already the fastest thing. Only out-sped by extremespeed dragonite and maybe arcanine.
Not the best idea but I guess dump everything in speed and attack is okay too

I've been extremely lucky with my safari shinies, got my bergmite before 1000 REs and got my Braixen within 4 encounters.

Rest of them are pretty random, just going into safaris with 2 or 3 pokemon I like the shiny for and hoping to get lucky.
