How do you feel about single type Pokemon? Do you use them often or at all? Or do you find taking advantage of dual stabs to be too useful.

Sure. While you can come up with better type/ability combos, there are lots of solid mono-types.

Type alone doesn't make it good or bad though.
Even Arceus-Ice/Poison/Bug is OP enough to stay out of OU.

I use them if I like them or if they serve good purposes, but usually they're the types that typically have few weaknesses or a nice resistance.

Very rarely for competitive play unless the pokemon itself is really good (eg Alakazam).

I do find it interesting at times, and that was why I liked tornadus since you don't see many pure Flying-types at that level of power.

Resisting dark, fighting and bug is pretty damn useful, especially when they are neutral to damn near everything else.

Pokémon like Vaporeon, Sylveon, Jolteon and Umbreon, with the right stats and abilities, prove to be quite useful.

Pokémon like Flareon, Glaceon, Leafeon prove that certain types as a whole don't work well by themselves, especially without proper stat allocations.

Pokémon like Espeon prove that with the right ability and stats, you can overcome your type's inherent ineffectiveness as a monotype.

Out of curiosity the types that DON'T work as mono-types. What would be say is the idea dual type to fix their problems?

So like Grass, Ice, Bug. Whatever else is a poor mono-type.

You have to pair it with Normal in order for it to be a bird.

In game? The only thing I care about is using something I haven't used before.

Competitive? It depends on the Pokemon itself. Typing isn't everything. That said, I will use more mono Steel, Water, or Ghost more than most others. I'd say Fairy, too, for it's great type-chart, but we need a good one first.
