For the same reasons as RNG, it's really fascinating how competitive SSB players break the game down to its most basic mechanics and are able to understand and use those mechanics with split-second precision. It's undeniably impressive. But the problem with that one is that the end result is just so incredibly boring. I love the SSB series, but the way competitive players play just bypasses everything that makes the series fun to me. I'm not saying that they shouldn't play that way - obviously they enjoy it, and if that's how they want to play, they should. Just that I personally would get absolutely no enjoyment out of that.
Interesting parallel, though. I hadn't thought to compare the two, but it definitely makes sense.
