Kecleon is my favorite poke. I haven't really done much competitive since x/y does Protean help him out at all?

I was mildly successful with him in UU with color change.

protean actually makes it pretty viable in my opinion. I go adamant with HP and Atk investment and slap an assault vest on it to go to work. PuP, Sucker Punch, Shadow Sneak, and Rock Tomb (sucks that this is the best coverage move he gets)

do you have access to a dream world kecleon in BW/2? Even though it had no hidden ability in gen5, it might still have the extra byte and could still get protean when you transfer it. I'm not interested in testing it, but the genned kecleons can get protean because of that extra byte either way, you'd still have to gen one in gen5

well, I made a bred one, but it should still be the same idea.

25% chance that a fresh DW Kec is female. In theory, you breed eggs and and the extra byte should be passed with the same 60% chance. I'm postgame in b2, so I could experiment I guess. Gen a more or less legitimate DW female Kecleon, and breed a bunch of eggs and see if any have protean when I transfer them.
