Mike and most of his team were headed back down into the cave, now that Garland had been picked up. The fallen Dark Warrior was secure for the moment; that meant his attention could be turned to going back for the one team member that had been left behind.

Paula, Mike's Gardevoir, was facing an increasingly uphill battle. She was busy dealing with enemy soldiers, choosing to disable them with Psychic attacks first before moving on to the Throh attempting to break his way in. The soldiers' flash had been thwarted for now, the Gardevoir shielding her eyes at the last minute. She wouldn't be able to focus on defending against everything at once unless she stopped attacking... and even then something was likely to get through. Backup needed to come through fast... [Again, a Psychic to disable the flash-using soldier.]

It was a good thing he did; after disabling the enemy soldier that had attacked, Paula was seized by a claw and flung into the cave wall. She'd been too slow to react, having put so much power into her last move. Focusing her power into a different energy type, she attempted to disable the claw with a Thunderbolt. If she could just get back to the portal, she might be able to escape... but at this rate that was a big if.

Sniffing and rubbing whatever snot dribbled from her nose on her jacket sleeve she fingered in her pockets with her clean hand. Just as she thought. Not a coin in reach. Poor and alone with her dirty looking Jolteon walking by her side she looked like she needed a shower. Weeks of traveling do that to a person.

She stopped at a street corner to look over the papers taped to the street light pole. One red and black one caught her eye as it only had a large "R" printed on it. Looking closer there was text underneath. "Help Wanted". Simply that and an address. Grabbing the paper and checking the street she walked toward what might be money.

Taking the twisting and turning, unfamiliar streets she arrived at the gate of a large building. Her mangy jolteon gave a cough and sat down by her feet. Hopefully this was the way to food too.

In exchange for the magic Potion, Mage handed Samus a spray bottle containing normal Hyper Potion. "Once Garland is up I'm going on ahead. You and the Absol can follow or go help Mike. No more reason to watch the portal once we're on the other side."

The enemy soldiers would soon have their hands full with the Garchomp, given that a Dragon Claw was coming right for one of them. Mike was done bothering with having Pokemon fight each other; considering his opponents were armed, it made sense to go after enemy trainers directly. Another Max Potion was readied, just in case it was needed.

From where he was it was clear that it had to be some form of sensor for anyone who was coming down into the tunnels. From around the corner the light changed a bit before resuming it's previous tinge, the place going back to silence as the odd noise seemed to grow distant again.
