PeTA (check their actual website, they advertise their lowercase ethics themselves) is absolute trash that preys on people who get them confused with animal welfare
The single shelter that PeTA runs has an over 95% euthanasia rate, 84% within the first 24 hours. According to veterinarians that inspected pets prior to being sent there they were "Perfectly healthy and adoptable". They sure weren't after.
All of this is because of one thing: PeTA thinks it's wrong to own pets. Here's a few words straight from the founder of PeTA:
"In the end, I think it would be lovely if we stopped this whole notion of pets altogether."
"Pet ownership is an absolutely abysmal situation brought about by human manipulation."
"One day, we would like an end to pet shops and the breeding of animals."
"We do not advocate "right to life" for animals."
