Looks like Fighting-types are going to get shat on just as they're running out of the gate, the next set's going to be Psychic-type themed.
>As we learned several months ago before Rising Fist was even revealed, Japan's XY4 set will be named Phantom Gate and is set to be released on September 13th! Like the type-themed sets before it, Phantom Gate will focus on Psychic-type Pokemon, featuring Gengar-EX and M Gengar-EX as its set mascots a la Charizard and Lucario for Wild Blaze and Furious Fists. The set will have at least 88 cards. Japan's also getting a deck featuring a new Aegislash EX card and a possibly-new Dialga EX, which will probably be mixed into Phantom Gate's international release when it's released. Oh, and WPM believes that the "Delta Emerald" trademark that was discovered a few months ago is TCG-related.

The missing Regis haven't seen print since the 3rd gen sets. The lake guardians saw print in non-EX forms in PLB, but we all know how useful those are. Manaphy and Phione are understandable, though Phione's only appearance since 2008's Majestic Dawn was in Legendary Treasures. Arceus hasn't been seen since Platinum Arceus, which has been its only appearance, though there were like fifteen of them in that set. The price for this is that the servers have got worse - the connection has broke twice now, once kicking me out of a match seconds before wrecking a PlasBad's Lugia EX with my Raichu.

Of course, that's the ideal (and assumes you're attacking an EX, but the strong energies alone are enough to take out any Stage 2). But that's still a lot. I feel Machamp would just get in the way of it all.

The only wheel-exclusive cards I've seen go for something on the TCGO are Plasma Landorus (because it's VERY good in Plasma/Fairybox decks as a Drakrai counter, especially when you don't want to run Landorus EX) and Machamp (because people think that it's possible to get 'em right now).

>>19767165 What I'm saying is that even early game, Yveltal decks try to start out with normal Yveltal and EX on the bench. That's 1 full turn knock out with Virbanklaser, or 2nd with Band. Nonetheless, Garbodor is going on the bench 2nd or 3rd turn. and shuts it down.

I'd add in Plasma Landorus, but that cat needs (F)(F)(C)(C) to OHKO Sigilyph (Its first attack only does a maximum of 70 when all of the requirements are met).
>>19767207 >I'm also saying that garbodor is equally shit. The problem is that most Garbodor players know when to set it up for maximum annoyance/effectiveness, which is why SixPrizes still classifies Darkrai/Garbodor decks as being Tier 1 decks.
There's not a lot of satisfaction to be had when you KO your opponent's Garbodor after they've decimated, if not flat-out KO'd, your key Ability carriers or high-Energy attackers.
Anonymous
>>19767244 It doesnt last long enough for that. It also requires too many cards if you want the setup to be reliable. You need more tools than normal and 4 additional cards for the mons themselves. This will eat up your energy acceleration, card draw, tool recycle or various other more important functions.
Anonymous
>>19767255 If it's another Darkrai/Garbodor, they aren't affected much by your putting down Garbodor, so they aren't going to target it.
If it's a Plasma Deck, they are usually too busy to use their Supporters on themselves, than to use a Lysandre. Especially early game.
Like I said, the point is to shut them down so you can target their big hitters. Once you get ahead, even if they target Garbodor, Yveltal is powered enough it doesn't matter.

>>19792350 I still fail that stupid test. Mainly get the tournament rules wrong though.
For card rulings here are a few answers.
Rainbow Energy counts as every type of energy and you do not get to decide what it acts like.
Example: if a Poke uses an attack as follows
[C][C] If there is a Grass attached the Defending Pokemon is now Poisoned, if a Psychic is attacked the Defending Pokemon is now Confused
The Defending Pokemon is Poisoned and Confused.
Another example: You can use a Rainbow to act like Rayquaza's Electric requirement in a Rayboar deck, but you would have to discard it because it counts as an electric.
Player who's turn it is takes priority when Pokemon Powers/Bodies/Abilities happens simultaneously during a turn. A KO always stops all actions unless it states 'even if X is knocked out'. There is a question about an electric energy being attached to an Electrode (10HP left) with some Body or Power that does 10 Damage to any opponent's Pokemon that uses a PokeBody. Ampharos with the Conductivity Poke Body is on the opponent's bench. Ampharos Body happens first because the act of attaching Energy triggered it and did 10 damage. Electrode's Body wouldn't trigger as it was knocked out the moment Conductivity triggered. In this case, it wasn't simultaneously as there is a definite chain of events.
If you attached Heal Energy to the Electrode, Heal Energy and Ampharos would happen simultaneously. The player who attached it could decide the order; what would be heal 10, take 10 for Conductivity, Ampharos takes 10 from Electrode's effect.
HOWEVER, in between turns whoever owns the Pokemon determines what order effects happen. If you are poisoned and have some sort of effect that would heal 10 damage in between turns, you can heal first then take poison to avoid a knock out.
Old Pokemon Powers affect 'new' Pokemon Powers and Bodies. Both are different from Abilities. Example: Fossil Muk would not affect Garbodor and vice versa in Unlimited.

>>19792585 Any new ruling on Weakness and Resistance is retroactive. Basically this means all Resistances are -20, and Weaknesses are X2 regardless of what the card says.
For the 'Spirit of the Game' Questions, it's all about not being a douche. Some answers being:
You can sell cards privately as long as whoever is hosting doesn't sell the same item or equivalent. Basically you can sell cards as long as the place hosting doesn't sell cards or you get permission.
If you disagree with a card ruling by a Judge or Head Judge and you are not involved in the match, it's proper procedure to wait until after the match to state your disagreement to ONLY the Judge. As a Professor, you can't even hypothetically give what would be your judgement would have been. Remember, saying your ruling if you aren't apart of the staff in the middle of the tournament might create an argument.
Overall that should cover it for the most part for card ruling and 'Spirit of the Game' Questions. Most questions are based around those rules I've answered here. Good luck next month!

Well, got back from the month's Unlimited 150 tournament, was using the same Typhlosion/Delphox/Muk deck as before. Four rounds of Swiss, same as always.>Round 1, vs mono-Fire Typhlosion/Ninetales Interesting, as I used to run this when I was first getting to grips with the format. I eventually went away from Ninetales because it felt clunky. I knew what my opponent was planning, but when I got a very quick start involved the charged up Delphox and Muk shutting off everything (more of my stuff than his but still) I didn't give him a chance, and rolled him over. He did, however, manage a T1-2nd KO on my lead Miltank, courtesy of Reshiram and Blacksmith. >Round 2 vs mono-Dark Honckhrow/Darkrai The format leader running his 'Hitchcock warned us' deck. I get a terrible start, having only Spiritomb and Miltank and I'm fumbling around to get basics for a good three or four turns. Spiritomb buys me just enough time to get set up before dying, and, although I used Lysandre three times, Delphox and Miltank go the distance. cont.

>>19794779 >Round 3, vs mono-Electric Ampharos Lockdown Aie, this deck can be a pain. I at least get a decent start, and while he drops Cursed Stone to threaten damaging any of my side that has Poke-Powers (so combined with Damage Bind Ampharos meant their powers became unusable) I topdeck Tropical Beach next turn and overwrite the Stone. We do end up in a bit of a stadium war throughout, although none really do a whole lot. Unfortunately for him he gets a slow start, and a charged Delphox begins burning away his side of the board. He eventually Gust of Winds and kills Muk but he's too far behind to recover.
>Round 4, vs mono-Psychic Gardevoir/Dusknoir/Gallade This was the 'final boss' of the day, one of the best players in the format. Seeing as I can't stand Dark Palm Dusknoir and he can't stand Muk, we mutually agree to replace the offending cards for something else before the match starts.
Very little actual locking happened this game, it was more a voleyball match of whoever could keep the biggest threat alive. My start was horrendous, and I was forced to Colress for three on the third turn as I didn't have time to waste. My three cards included Tropical Beach! Getting what I need from the Beach, I'm back in the game and having to work around Sinister Hand Dusknoir, which, in true match-throwing style, I Gust out and kill with Delphox. Each of my Pokemon get Imprisoned by Gardevoir-ex but I'm already mainly set up so it didn't harm me much. Delphox does eventually get killed by Miltank this time, but it turns out my opponent had spent more Energy than he'd have liked, and, with the prizes are 5-2 in my favour, he has no ways to get enough energy to attack the half-health Unseen Forces Typhlosion who is raging for 110 each turn, and scoops.
I finish in first place with a score of 4-0, and get a promotional HG/SS DCE with a gold-print stamped 'Unlimited 150' on it, as well as 4 Flashfire packs. I pull FA Pokemon Fan Club but nothing else of note.
