So let's talk about Rotom. No, not that one, the other ones no one ever uses or talks about.

Let's pretend that one Gen 5 retcon never happened, and every Rotom forme is Electric/Ghost. Would people use them in today's Gen 6 meta? What forme would be the most popular if they all shared the same type, only differentiated by their bonus move?

To me, Frost makes the most sense. It may not be entirely reliable, but the forme-changed stat boosts combined with powerful Thunderbolt/Blizzard combo would be a force to be reckoned with with a dual-attacking set like the one on most Rotom-Ws today.

Is there a reason for that, though? Hydro Pump isn't particularly more or less reliable than Blizzard, and it's worse dual-attacking coverage anyhow.

You'll have to forgive me; I actually came in to the competitive meta around the start of BW, so this is before my time.

It is ridiculously hard to counter because of it. Sp. Def Hippo, Heatran and Tyranitar are usually good Rotom counters that get fucked by it. Blissey is the last best counter but fucked by Trick.

Wash has good competition in Toaster though, since Overheat hits Steels and Breloom hard. I actually see more Toasters these days in Gen 4.

Frost may have had A+ neutral coverage with blizzard, wash had hydro pump which hit it's counters.

But what about today, though? You don't see hippo much anymore. I guess Heatran and Ttar are still around, but what about other defensive threats? With its movepool and competition as it gets it today, would the answer be different?
