>>19767580>>19767599Yeah. That's how I remember it. I mean, I kind of liked the games by Emerald, but there was just so much that felt like a step down from Gold and Silver. Yes, we got Natures and Abilities, yes, I liked running, and yes, some of the hate for the Pokémon designs was completely unfounded (I remembered bitching about the Gen II Pokémon, which I ended up loving later, so I was over myself when Gen III came around). And yes, the Teams were far better than "Oh look, it's Team Rocket again, and this time they're doing evil because they... want their leader back." But we lost night and day (and kept a clock that does nothing but measure berries and the tide), the PokéNav was a shitty imitation of the superior PokéGear (OH WOW I CAN CHECK HOW CUTE OR TOUGH MY POKéMON IS, WOWWW, where's the goddamn radio and why do people need to void the warranty just to add a new app to it?). The water routes were annoying and I was glad for how limited they were in Sinnoh.
The font was also so horrific they had to change it in FR/LG and Emerald.
I'll be playing Alpha Sapphire for the nostalgia, and to see the improvements they made (as I did with Emerald), but I am appalled by the nostalgia some people have for those games.
Also the trumpets sounded like shit.
