I've heard that a choice banded Garchomp hits harder than a M–chomp without sandstorm.

Thing about Mega Garchomp is that the Speed drop is pretty crippling for it. Either run it on a team with something fast that can use T-Wave, Use Sticky Web support in a sandstorm team or Baton Pass some boosts from something like Scolipede to it. +2 in Attack and Speed can make it pretty scary.

If you want it to hit harder than regular Chomp without Sandstorm, I recommend a Swords Dance set. Although I would honestly run mixed with D-Meteor or Fire Blast to make set it apart from regular Chomp.

Only successful way I've ever seen it doing well was with the fatchomp spread of not entirely defensive and sometimes having its attack buffed with ttar/hippo support. Pretty sure it was a defensive mega chomp with eq, rest talk and roar/dragontail or whatever, wasnt that bad but even with more buk compared to standard chomp i still prefer normal fatchomp with rocky helmet.

Can be used mixed too but with that speed and natural bulk plus impressive attack stats even when uninvested I think it works better like that, with rest talk and hazard support, if you for mixed or sd get sticky web support.

Speed is everything in this meta. Bad speed = bad offensive mon. It doesn't even have priority.

It's only viable if you set up BEFORE mega evolving, but even then it's just not worth it.
