Well, not the whole game I suppose, but my most recent Platinum run ended with me deciding that
Bronzong was dead weight (I am just not good with using it I suppose), and I ended up training up a Gallade to replace it since I had used Gardevoir before but never Gallade. He ended up being a pretty good asset for the E4 and Cynthia. Definitely impressed me

I don't even think I have a story like this. The closest thing I can think of is Electrode in Emerald. I had heard there was a cunty Sootopolis Gym Leader and champion that had killer Water teams. Needless to say I really enjoyed 'Trode's speed throughout my playthrough.

This guy. Caught a Moxie one in Black by pure chance, turned out to be my best asset on that team.

Needless to say, I've caught one in every game ever since. Black 2 and Y, making sure they were Moxie too, they still wrecked shit.

Especially the one in Black 2. 31 IVs in Attack and a Brave nature.
Also the first Pokemon I trained in Super Training, ending up with all 252 EVs in Attack.

He's just the broest bro. Would never replace.

I have two. One is Gengar as well, I was playing Pokemon Stadium with my brother and needed a rental Pokemon, decided to use Gengar and it wrecked everything. Got a shiny one, EV trained it, and have consistently used it since then. The other is more recent, in Omega Fire Red I started with Elekid, and now Electabuzz is wrecking everything along with my Mudkip/Marshtomp (already knew Marshtomp was awesome though).

This motherfucker right here. Decided to give him a chance because I always shrugged him off as a shitty deer. Turns out now he's probably my favorite grass type.

Horn Leech (75 Attack Power and a health steal effect) is a fucking godsend.

And STAB Double Edge is just icing on the cake especially with the life steal from Horn Leech.

Flabebe line. I didn't really want to use any of the other fairies, but I wondertraded something and got an orange Flabebe in the same level range as my team and I ran with it. That thing hit HARD and was surprisingly resiliant. It stayed on my team all the way through to Diantha.

Upon reaching the last leg of my journey in White, I still had a slot open and nothing to really fill it in with. I had okay type coverage despite having no Water-types, but I ended up getting one of these. She ended up destroying the next gym, Marshal, Grimsley, and over half of N's team. I felt bad when I had to choose to replace her with Milotic in the postgame.

Arbok. The beauty of Nuzlocke is that I can go try out new Pokemon because that's all I can choose from.

This nigga. I had so much trouble getting past the Psychic twins when I first played Emerald (lost to them twice, which is like, mindblowing), so I picked up a Duskull and raised it up into one of my favorite Pokemon ever.

Inner Focus prevents flinching. However, it doesn't prevent loss of movement when the user is attacked whilst using Focus Punch as the user doesn't actually flinch, but rather the move fails.

Respect. I settled on that as my Ground-type back in Gen I, and had one all the way up until Gen V when it was unavailable due to Unova's shitty collection of Pokemon. I think it'll go down as my least favorite generation for that. Among other things.

I have a few, in B/W2 I was struggling with Roxie's gym, only having an Azuril and a Snivy. So I caught a Magnemite and wow was it amazing. Took it all the way to the Elite 4.

Second story would be from HG/SS, I needed a flying type and I couldn't decide as to what. So i decided that the next flying type I come across I would use. It was a Zubat, and once it got to a Crobat it out sped everything. Actually, pretty much my whole SS team impresed me, since they where majority Johto pokemon exclusive to Johto.

Final story. I was playing through Emerald and decided I wanted an Ice type. I had already used Glalie before and so I wen't with Walrein. Best decision of my life. Since it was part water, I could split up the HM's instead of all dumping them on my Swampert as I usually do. Having only 1 slot taken up by a watre move was amazing.

It was cute as fuck with its little angry eyebrows and back then, Dig had the same BP as Earthquake. It also intrigued me because its stat spread was so unlike any other ground type so far, or any other 'earth elemental' in RPGs for that matter.

Tentacool/cruel, nearly without fail are some of the best members on my teams, since specially defensive mons with a decent attacking stat are hard to come by, especially in Nuzlockes. Plus its typing actually comes in handy when it has to beat physical things, namely with that sexy fighting resist.

Started carrying a Golbat in my first slot in Crystal because I wanted to fill dex and would need the evolution by happiness. Crobat stayed for Fly. Then in every other game I would have a Crobat because why the fuck not.

I'm doing a run on White right now where I play with Pokemon I never gave a shot before and, holy shit, THE POWER.

It gets slapped around by special attackers but in a good old fashion punch-out, it can soak up damage and then bring the pain.
