"Why do you need to come?" Jay asked with a mouthful of breakfast.
"Because I gotta see what Leo does to that poor thing this time." Tori answered "Every time he tries to update that Glitch of his, it gets even more crosswired than before. Hilarious."
There was a tapping at the window. Floette was done poking around the windowbox. Mom got up to open the pane and lifted the tiny Pokemon up onto her shoulder. Mom tolerated a house full of everyone else's Pokemon, so long as no one bothered Floette. Lump pressed her luck.
"I think Leo should be more careful with things like that," she said, tickling Floette under her chin. "Pokemon are pets, not pet projects."
"I'll be sure to tell him you said that, Mom," said Jay. "But he's going on and on about how he's got it right this time. I don't think your words of wisdom will stop him.

"Why did you bring her?!" Leo cried as he saw Jay and Tori enter into the computer lab. Leo's father worked in IT department at the city's transportation company. He'd gotten Leo and internship there, which Leo used to do anything but debugging or tech support. He mostly used it to...tinker.
Tom was busy trying keep from wetting himself at the display that lay to Leo's right. A Porygon2 floated upside-down, its head jerking up and down as it repeatedly rammed itself feebly into a computer tower.
"I seriously don't get it dude," Tom snickered. "Why are you even bothering us with this right now? You tell us every other week that you finally perfected it. Lies."
"Just you wait, Glitch here is due for a dubiously awesome upgrade."
"Or you'll just clutter him up with even more useless junk data." Tori said flatly.
