If you compare it to just other moves, it's very strong, of course. But if you take into account that it will never hit for SE damage, is only distributed among only a handful of pokemon (4, 1 of which doesn't even get STAB), you'd realize that it isn't overpowered.

Noivern is even shit in UU since Hydreigon beats it in offense and defense. Switcheroo to cripple walls is pretty neat, but Rotom-H does it better and can actually take a hit and score key kills. Noivern WILL fall to RU this gen.

In theory, yes. In execution, no. All the Pokemon that get it have sub-par Special Attack for an offensive Pokemon, and the Pokemon who could abuse it the best (Noivern) doesn't even get STAB on it.

Basically, it's a ridiculously good move kept from being completely overpowered by specific distribution.

It's a Normal type move, so you could compare it to Normal Monster cards in Yugioh. The more recent ones have had impressive attack and they can certainly overwhelm under the right conditions, but they're generally not so good. Boomburst would be devastating if given to the right mons of course so it's not nearly as bad.

There is nothing indicative about Z's design that could make it learn Boomburst. And don't be the faggot who uses ass backwards logic to justify this (XD OLD MODEMS WERE LOUD TOO.)

Right now, it's Top Tier UU. Boomburst would put it into BL or bottom tier OU. I'd like it to stay there.

Swellow could learn Boomburst for some reason. Heck, I'd just like a stronger special Normal move for Porygon-Z. A special Return would be great. Techno Blast and all its drives actually fit Porygon-Z in flavor but that move's probably never going to leave Genesect.

I get it, this is gamefreaks way of trying to buff shitmons. The only thing I don't like about creating broken moves and giving them to shit pokemon is that it kind of limits future options and doesn't always thematically make sense. For example, now we can probably never have mega chatot or mega noivern, because boomburst would now be on good pokemon, instead of only being there to buff shit mons (okay noivern isn't bad but whatever)

It also doesn't make sense for meloetta to not learn boomburst. Or it doesn't make sense for pokemon with shells that happen to be good not learning shell smash

and the amount of megas added per generation is merely a fraction of the new pokemon added. The amount of megas will maintain a similar ratio to regular pokemon as further generations are added on

Chatot and noivern wouldnt be that good with megas Chatot has pis poor defenses not that fast or strong and can get one shot by nearly any Pokemon and needs its sash.noiverns no stab boom burst isnt that great really and most people don't use it on its normal sets.Add to the fact you can easily fuck over a mega by giving it a poor BSt and useless ability.
