After playing around with Blastoise, he's way more awesome than Charizard.
I've never really cared about Lucario. Always thought Gamefreak forced him too hard, and he's kind of furry bait, but after Korrina gives you one, he kinda grew on me.

I wish Team Rocket cells were a recurring theme in all of the regions. Like there's a small dungeon where you find out tidbits about how they're still trudging along.
Some of my favorite pokemon designs are gen V, but I did not like how Unova was set up. The main story felt like a chore to trudge through.
