Do you still hold B or A when trying to catch a pokemon? Because I do. That shit is stuck with me even though I know it doesn't help.

No idea why I do it. I'm one of those people that repeatedly hit A hoping to make the game go faster though. So maybe it's just something to do

Mine's complicated. I hold Down on the d-pad+B at first, then let go of down on the d-pad right when the pokeball opens. I remember reading on a website along time ago that on Gold version it would make any pokemon be automatically captured. It was obviously a hoax, but it's still something that I've been doing this past 15 years of playing Pokemon.

No, for my entire life of playing Pokemon i have always hit A the SECOND the ball opens to catch the Pokemon. I don't spam or hold anything, just that one second where it opens I always instinctively hit A.

I only ever did it in the game boy days. Even then though I doubted if it ever really did anything. Years later, reading about catch rates and shake checks put that superstition to bed for me.

It's down + B, retard. Everyone knows that.

And I used to do it as a kid, but in gen 6 everything has such a large catch rate it doesn't even almost matter. I miss the days when balls would miss entirely.
