Not necessarily. It's safe to assume they will use megas, but not 100% that they're going to use their signature pokemon as megas.

They could just use some other stupid pokemon like Gyarados, or possibly >>19815588 though I think that will use something different than a mega stone.

I like to think they'll give some non-Hoenn Pokes megas as well. Like, Sandshrew and Skarmory (for example) can be found in Hoenn, they might get Megas as well.

Also, couldn't you get GSC starters in Emerald? That might hint towards 2nd gen starter evos.

I screenied this a few months ago. Serebii posted this a while before the last reveal, and he had Mega Swampert and Sceptile with their confirmed abilities. Do remember he also was the first to post the 3 hidden legendary Pokes before they were announced.

All the megas that are most likely going to be in the game: Alakazam, Pinsir, Gyarados, Heracross, Sceptile, Blaziken, Swampert, Gardevoir, Mawile, Sableye, Aggron, Medicham, Manectric, Absol, Latias, Latios, & Diancie.

The hell are you talking about, Magma never uses Houndoom in the games. They use Baltoy in Emerald, plus they're chasing a Ground type legendary and want to create more freaking land. It's safe to assume they're supposed to be a Ground-type team even if they use Dark and Poison mons (which are pretty much mandatory for villains in Pokemon).

It's catchable in Emerald, after the E4 in the expanded Safari Zone. If they were going to expand the Hoenn Dex, and I think they will, Houndoom would be on the list.
