I'm posting a lot of these today but it can't be helped,
seeing that the deadline for the demo music is near. I'm working 24/7 for that shit. https://soundcloud.com/mrwhale-3/observatory-terrible-version https://soundcloud.com/mrwhale-3/observatory-terrible-version This has more brass than the entirety of Hoenn combined.

The Great Shadini/Oscar Dark Gym Leader of the Vivace Gym.
His concept is:
A ringleader of a circus. He is actually very timid when not on stage and performing.
On stage he is known as The Great Shadini, but his real name is Oscar. After his act is finished, he disappears backstage where you find him out of costume. Oscar is actually incredibly timid, and he even struggles talking to the player. But when performing on stage, where the audience is in total darkness, he can actually talk to people and puts on more bravado and confidence.
Here are all of his designs:
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img823/7290/hmj6.png So don't worry about minor changes to existing designs but any moderate or major changes to these designs or a completely new design(s)! As we will vote on the direction to take first, and then there will be time to have minor changes made.
I would also suggest not talking about what you like best and what you don't like. As it never leads anywhere unless people are actually currently designing one and you give feedback towards it. As you can tell by the comments already it just leads to pointless arguing and goes no where. Your opinion will be seen in the survey when it happens.
Let me know and reply to this post if you plan on making one. Please get it done within 1-2 weeks if possible! Thank you and happy art-ing!

Also, notification of any plot holes or anything like that would be greatly appreciated, since I wrote this piece by piece in between sessions of writer's block and proofread it at 3 AM. Anyway
Using observatory as base for mining?
>Ricardo tells champ to fuck off and leaves. No.
It might just be how it's written but it seems like you're rushing from plot point to plot point probably just the wording it's most likely nothing.
Ricardo could be more of a dick, he seems to be showing up in really obvious places rather than ambushing you where you least expect it.
> Most/all of the gym leaders, maybe others like the elite 4, Mangrove, Sequoia, Rival, the champ, etc. come in at this point and could hold off the admins while you investigate further Why?
This part makes no sense.
Why are all the gym leaders there?
Why are they sending off a kid into danger when they could have you holding back grunts etc while they're doing the dangerous work.
Also Northington's monologue runs on for a while.
Having to trek across the continent just to look for the spirits seems pretty boring too. Like a simple whatever the word is for quest. Go to point A, retrieve object. Return A to quest giver for EXP.
Your late/post game needs work but other parts are fine mostly.
You're missing Master Ball and not being able to catch a wild pokemon is pretty weak.

Let's get back to the main point. Golem = doubly weak to ground = not uber.
Quetzar = only uber in the game, according to

252 Attack/Def, 4 HP, Adamant/Impish

Drain Punch/Drill Peck/Icicle Crash/Thunder Punch
etc. etc.
105 Attack isn't the best, but it still hits hard enough thanks to its great offensive typing and Hail benefits, regardless of ability. While slow, it can use this to its benefit (especially because it means Gyro Ball, the only useful Steel attack besides Bullet Punch, at least in pre-gen 6 Smogon meta, is weaker against it)
Its far from overpowering, in part due to the myriad weaknesses and sub-100 defenses, but its still a threat in the hands of an intelligent user or with the proper support (Stealth Rock, which it learns though cant use under Choice Band obviously, coupled with Hail, wears down opponents incredibly fast - Any thing thats immune to hail takes at least neutral damage from SR, more if they're mono-type or lack a rock-resisting second type)

In fact, the problem is much less present in the wide version, but in the thin version the trunk isn't as wide, so more of the left part of the body is visible, makiing that illusion more present, but it still does exist in the wide version.
Also, the foot is shaded in a manner that makes it seem like it's not being held flat to the ground
ComfyCushion !!wEpYnpclEDq
>>19817977 Yeah, soil (aka dirt) is a mixture of organic material and various sizes of crushed rock (Sand, dust, pebbles, that sort of thing).
Crude oil is actually the remnants of ancient plankton and algae which were buried under the sea floor in conditions without oxygen, keeping them from being biodegraded. Over time, this material got trapped in sedimentary rock formations and subsumed into the ground, closer and closer to the heat of the mantle. The heat and pressure then cooked the material into a pure slurry of hydrocarbons we call oil.
Coal formed the same way. Back when trees first evolved, biodegraders like bacteria and fungi were unable to break down the lignin in the wood, so vast quantities of dead trees were buried without being biodegraded. Over time, the same process that turned the algae and plankton into oil turned the trees into coal.

>>19818336 You made a mistake by the top right of the stump on the sprite outline.
Anyways, the art outline also shows the exact issue at hand. The side facing the viewer doesn't protrude like that. Also, in your sprite, the end of the trunk isn't visible below the log. Intrestingly, the art that got voted in notes the end ofthe trunk is inside the log, but there's clearly a bit of it protruding outwards. We can also see the shape of the trunk in the sprite is pretty off.
Also you aren't using the center sprite in this. My pont was tha tthe perspective was fine in the original, wide sprite, but since you only edited the face and trunk when you corrected the wideness, the perspective got messed up. See how the angle between the eyes and the tusks match, both of which were changed, but the angles between them and the feet and the hips do not, which were not changed from the original wide sprite?
Also you used the wrong, outdated sugi in this comparsion, note the trunk size/shape
Suffice to say there are problems with both the sprite in comparsion to the sugi, and the sugi in regards to the original art. I've spent too much damn time on this shit as is, I have more important things to do then sperg over this right now. Looking over it again, i see a few mistakes I made, but I'll bring this back up again in the future, as I said, I have more urgent things to do.
Bottom line is you should redo the body of the sprite, or just the whole sprite, using the proportions of the head/face in the center sprite in

Also since I already had the 1500 thing typed up I suppose I might as well post it.
>I'm aware there are errors, and that I went about explaining what the issues were the wrong way, but I don't have time to go over this more right now. I said in the post I posted the image that I made some errors. >the primary issue I brought up that you still have not addressed is how you altered the perspective of the face when you made the version with the fixed width, but you didn't change the rest og the body or the legs along with it, resulting in warped anatomy. >This can easily and quite simply be seen in if you were to draw an imaginary plane splitting forusk in half from trunk to tail, given the perspective of the sprite, any point you pick on the left half of the body should be higher up vertically on the sprite then the symmetrical point on the right side. Forusk's face and head are attached to his body, and his body is attached to trunk like legs and feet: it's not anatomically possible for him to rotate himself in a way that the legs and feet are postioned as shown in the sprite, yet for his face to be positioned so that the RIGHT half is higher then the left. >The shape of the trunk is not an issue that is exclusive to the "fixed" sprite, it's not accurate to the art in the original sprite as well. If we have 2 v1.3 demos, and were using those names, the following mon version could be purple and the other violet, or something.

The redline guy is a douche, and I'm sick of their bullshit.

I don't take this stuff as seriously as it may seem. Most of the time my responses are a sarcastic response at someone I think is being ridiculous. Where it counts I try to deal fairly with people.
And you don't need a trip to have valid input. Sorry I didn't quote everyone who said they like the carabugs, but I am serious when I said I was proven wrong. I tried to be conciliatory to other people's opinions, and now people are getting even more mad at me.
