XY broke so many series conventions including CotDs having evolved versions of Ash's Pokemon. Usually that means Ash won't evolve his Pokemon, but he winds up evolve Fletching despite the rapper having a Fletchinder. Hell the sky battle episode will feature Talonflame, but that won't stop Ash from evolving Fletchinder.

This is the season in which anything could happen. I hope Ash catches Whimscicott. The poor thing only had one scene in BW. It'd be interesting to see how it fights.

megas are comparable to fucking legendaries. he's not just going to start using one, there will be series-long buildup leading to it. also he's not going to use charizard before the league, or before his kalos team evolves. it defeats the whole purpose of starting over.
