If we're supposed to believe that everyone besides the main character have trained and grew up with their pokemon and developed friendship and shit,

why is it that no one else but he main character nicknames their pokemon?

I mean in the games, not the show. Is there some unwritten law where nicknaming your pokemon is wrong?
