I'm kind of a smogonfag myself, but I've always thought how impressive it was that Dennissss was able to secure his ranking for so long with a team that seems really basic/easy to shut down etc, but you really needed to run some obscure shit just to dent it, like Perish Song

All the complex ban on Baton Pass did was ask baton pass players to try using 3 new pokemon that end up working out better than the old teams anyway. If smogon hadn't implimented the ban the same change would have been made over time as the play style evolved naturally.
