>>19842449>Garish, conflicting color schemeNigga it's literally Ponyta's color scheme with blue thrown in. You know, blue, which is a complementary color of orange.
>solid lines make it look unnaturalDid you even fucking look at his back haunch
>Apparently based on d'Artagnan? How the fuck does this convey that? How the fuck would you discern that?Gee, I don't know, maybe because he has a light blue fucking head and neck piece and his mane and frills look like a fancy musketeer hat? Maybe because he's part of the fucking musketeer legendaries? Maybe because d'Artagnan was the "forgotten" musketeer, just as Keldeo was the "forgotten" member of his group? And you don't have to convey what the mon is inspired by. That would be a Pokemon imitation of a preexisting piece of art.
And the design isn't "all over the place," either. It's fantastical and romanticized because it's a goddamn musketeer. Those guys are seen as fantastic and romantic. Plus, it's a legendary. They make those guys pretty stylized and memorable. Ponyta is just another wild encounter in the woods. It's not supposed to look one-of-a-kind. Keldeo is.
Everything else mentioned is negative phrasing of traits that can be taken positively.
Honestly, I'm not even a Keldeo fan, nor am I a designfag, but the creator of this image needs to step up his fucking game.
