My first shiny encounter ever was with a Tangela at the Great Marsh, something i couldn't believe, since I had just seen a warning about shiny Pokemon on the Great Marsh on bulbapedo. It fled. I was devastated.
Fast forward a few years, there I was, playing White 2, enjoying it quite a bit, and then, shiny Rattata at Castelia Sewers. With Hugh following me. I tried my best to faint his mon, but it went straight for the shiny, killing it in one hit. Again, I was devastated.
My last encounter with a shiny, was a bag of mixed feelings. Fast forward another year, there I was, playing X, a week or two after beating it, I was horde EV training some mons in the Frost Ice Cavern Sp. Attack by killing Vanillite, when I see it. In a horde of Cubchoo's I would normally run from, there it was, a shiny Cubchoo! Catching it however would mean ruining my EV training, having to farm berries that I hadn't even gotten yet, making the process take a few days longer.
I ended up fighting my autism and caught it. My first shiny. It's Lax. I barely use it. Catching it pissed me off. But goddamn do I love my first shiny.
