But here's something the Hoenn starters all share: all of their abilities are about raising stats. There we go. Blaziken and Swampert's abilities have to do with Speed, and Sceptile's has to do with Sp Atk.

Yeah, besides, Mega Sceptile isn't going to be a defensive powerhouse of any sort, and would be easy enough to deal with (being 4x weak to a common attacking type) that there is no reason to bring out some NU trash or ruin a moveset just to paralyze M-Sceptile.

It's effectively immune to paralysis
