Having to stay over at my Grandma's house because the rest of my family went on vacation but I had chicken pox. Sounds like a shitty weekend, right? Wrong. My brother had played a bit of Red on our Gameboy but told me I could have it because he didn't like it since he couldn't beat Brock, and I played it all weekend. I was a young kid at this point, but my reading comprehension was good because I read a lot, so I kept playing. Charmander was my bro, knocking things out left and right. Oh wait, I have to bring a Parcel to Prof. Oak. "Hey, he gave me a job, I better get this back to him!" Stuff as simple as that which we take for granted now made me feel like I was on an adventure, a big guy ready to take on the world with my little fire lizard friend. I completely forgot how itchy I was, and played all weekend. I beat Brock and showed my older brother, and he asked me how I did it and was jealous. Him, jealous of me! It was great. I was a middle child so I felt like I was never the big hero or center of attention, but right then I was cool.
For the record I used Butterfree to beat Brock. Confusion OP.
