Have you played it? Or are you just saying this because you're mad that Pokemon(the main games)stayed the same? You have the spin-offs to fall back on, a lot to be exact. But you won't play them. You haven't played a Pokemon game since Gold and you didn't finish it because Pokemon wasn't cool anymore. You probably watched the anime more and want an MMORPG with the original 151 because that's what you grew up with and they're the best.

Get the fuck outta here with that shit. Pokemon is Pokemon, Youkai Watch is Youkai Watch. At best, you'll get a spin-off similar to it- oh I forgot, you won't play it because your tastes and mindset are shit. I reiterate, get the fuck outta here.

Staying the same is not the problem, it's just that XY looks like a super low budget indie game for a multi-million franchise like Pokemon, compared to Youkai Watch It looks like shit.

If it's not you, you still hold similar viewpoints that other guy had(I.E you). And graphics don't mean a fucking thing. I don't Pokemon for the graphics, and anyone who still plays Pokemon can tell you that as well. That's the last aspect to give a shit about and GameFreak knows full well what not to waste money and time on.

So if your favorite Gens are IV/V, you know full well what I meant when I said graphics don't matter, especially with Gen IV. It was dated even then and the two-frame animations were a joke. And GameFreak doesn't make the spin-offs. Approve them, yes. Develop them? No.

Just because graphics is not important doesn't mean it can looks like shit. Imagine Square Enix making FFXV with PS1 graphics, everyone would lose their shit.

Okay, let's think about this, then. Sonic. Real world. HOW DOES YOUR BRAIN NOT EXPLODE FROM THAT ALONE? There's nothing realistic about this thing whatsoever. Not to mention it's against Sonic's character to be super serious. Not to mention this means you're putting loops, corkscrews and other bizarre landforms or architecture IN THE REAL WORLD. Technically, the moment Sonic went to 3D, all of this has been set on Earth. However, one can be convinced it's an alternate Earth where such things can exist. But the real one?

I am not saying Sonic can't be taken seriously, either. This was not the way to do it, though. SA2 did it pretty doggone well and it isn't as atrocious as 06 is. If this is about the graphical style, then I'm sorry, but 06 just is not interesting. At all. Again, the Sonic characters look so out of place here, and Eggman doesn't even look right. Not to mention that we didn't need a human princess or for her to be part of a romantic subplot.

It's all just so so wrong. You want to do that to Pokemon?

Also it looks just average, models are just ok, if you pay attention you will notice X/Y models to be very detailed, they may use them again on a console release.
And if you want to compare things that looks like shit compared to Smash on 3DS.

Unleashed is obviously not set in the real world, hence the quotes. However, the stages, bar the last one are very obviously based on real world locations (Mykonos, Italy, China, etc) In essence, it's doing "Sonic in real world locations" better than 06 ever could, and it wasn't even trying to do so.

This is exactly what I thought of when I saw the OP's video. Using still shots to tell the story is a really easy and rewarding way to build an art style for a lower budget game. XY looks like painting half the time, but it's fully rendered and doesn't use cutouts for anything. Using a visual novel style frees up a ton of space on the cartridge and requires very little rendering on the screen so textures can be higher quality.

In any case, Devil Survivor: Overclocked is one of the best games on the 3DS in my opinion, and probably my favorite SMT spinoff. Coming from someone who's played nearly every game in the series I hope that says something about the quality.

The first trailer of XY took us by surprise and we loved it. You know why? BECAUSE IT STILL LOOKED LIKE POKEMON. they litreally took the classic style of the games and transformed it to 3D, nothing less, nothing more.

If they change too much stuff, people won't like it. Of course GF can do better, and maybe someday Pokémon will look like that, but the progress must be slow, little by little so we don't jump from one style to the other and get a visual shock.
