Really? I've had great luck with Golem.

Sturdy+Weakness Policy+Rock Polish.

He's capable of OHKO'ing lots of things at +2 (not much resists Earthquake and Stone Edge) and he learns Sucker Punch to get off a bunch of damage before priority kills you.

I found Scizor to be increadibly annoying in the 4th and 5th gen meta and it seemed like everyone had one the bastards. Not only that but the number of sets it could run made it hard to predict and caused me a lot of problems.
During one of my electronics lecture, my friend pulled out some crocodile clips and made a joke about Mega Scizor's claws. I laughed but pointed out my disliking for Scizor which he then traded me his to use online and I actually find it fun to use, especially in the knock off meta.

The Flabebe line, when I first caught it during my XY Nuzlocke run. Then its Special Defense kept rising. Once I was able to teach it Calm Mind the rest of the run became stupidly easy.

As for Pokemon I really liked until I used it, Malamar. Thought it would be absolute boss with Contrary, Topsy-Turvy, Superpower, etc. But it was just too damn slow.

Never hated Emboar, I just wasn't interested in it. I was one of those idiots who saw Emboar's Fire/Fighting and instantly drew comparisons to Blaziken and Infernape, but after playing with him in B/W I discovered that he was pretty much a completely different beast. I wish we got Reckless though.

Muk. Lousy design, type that didn't go well with how I play... I'd basically ignored it since Gen I. Then in B/W2 I caught a shiny Grimer. Amazingly enough it was my first shiny ever, so of course I had to use it in my team. It was about as useless as I expected until it evolved, at which point it became surprisingly awesome.

Rapidash, back in Pearl. I mean, I didn't dislike it, but I loved the fire type back then, and it earned my respect.

Clefable. Used one in a mono-Normal run of Leafgreen last year, and it could take anything with cosmic power + moonlight. But I had learned to like its design by that point.

I'll admit it, I didn't like the look of it in 5th gen and thought it was overrated as fuck, I gave in and raised one in gen 6 when its model looked alright and I needed a physical fire type flareon still lacks sadly and I never knew how much of a nuke its flare blitz could be.

I don't use stuff that I absolutely disdain, but I was mostly indifferent to the following.
Mandibuzz - Used since it suited the team, was pretty effective though Toxic stalling kinda made me feel bad since I hate stall tactics myself
Hariyama - Tried to make use of it like AV Guts Conkeldurr, performed its role pretty well actually with Fake Out and Bullet Punch though it's probably outclassed by Conkeldurr in singles with its Drain Punch and STAB priority
Bastiodon - Initially reluctant to use it but since I was making a dino team on cart a ceratopsian is pretty much essential to the theme. Then I noticed it learned Fissure and it's become a pretty devastating coin-flip monster with its Fissure/Smackdown and Metal Burst/Sturdy shenanigans. One of my favs now.
Gourgeist - I thought it was stupid at first, but the fanart made it look cute so I ended up using it. Does a pretty good job at taking hits and spreading burns. Another one of my favs now.
Gliscor - Gligas was one of my most favorite Pokemon back in GSC but I ended up drifting away after Gliscor due to the design (plus its sprite in DP was horrible and had an ugly face). I'm trying to warm up to it again by training one up, hopefully I'll grow to like it like I did with Gligar 10 years ago.

I always thought they were annoying so I would never catch them as a kid.
Then as time went on I decided to finally give them a chance, I think the first time I caught one was in Gen III.

I kept it around for a while, then it evolved into Golbat. Got more useful after that, kept it around even longer.
And then something I completely forgot about happened, it evolved again. I forgot all about Crobat somehow.
I used him for the entire game, he stayed even after I ended up dropping my starter.

to lesser extent, i feel the same way about raichu - didn't really hate it so much as just regard it as trash, but it makes a really good partner to my dd gyarados in doubles due to fake out + lightning rod
