Penders used to write for the Sonic comics and he made a bunch of shitty echidna OC. I forgot why but he ended up suing Archie and because of their at the time incredibly incompetent legal team and Sega getting tired of it, they just gave up and gave him all of his shitty OC, the thing in that picture being one of them.
Of course since he can't make echidnas exactly like how they are in Sonic, he changed them into disgusting aliens.
Also he acts like a complete douchebag and fucks with archie just for the sake of fucking with them. He tries to say that multiverse in Sonic is his idea and threatens to sue if Scourge ever shows up because the concept of Evil Sonic is his idea. Even though Archie now has a competent team that could beat him into the ground, they don't because they've already moved past it and they would risk Sega revoking the license to the comic if they did.
