I don't understand why they're making things so needlessly complicated.
Compared to the previous generation, where BP chains were more or less a joke, they only gained 2 things: Sylveon and Speed Boost Scolipede.
Sylveon has been found not to be 100% necessary to the chain, unlike Scolipede which is mandatory.
Just ban Scolipede alone and get over it. That thing is like Blaziken but it sacrifices some offensive potential for much better support. If Blaziken is banned there is no reason to keep Scolipede in OU.
This whole "only x BP users per team" complex shit is ridiculous.

To be fair Blaziken was banned for its sweeping abilities; the fact it also doubles as an excellent Baton Passer is the icing on the cake.
But otherwise I agree with you anon. Scolipede is no slouch offensively - compared to Blaziken it has 20 less attack, but much higher speed and defensive type, so it doesn't have to use Protect on the first turn.
STAB Megahorn hurts like hell and its coverage options are decent.
Oh and just for fun, this thing also learns Spikes and Toxic Spikes so after the Deoxys get banned expect it to run a lead set pretty often.

Overall Scolipede is a great cleaner, lead and supporter. This thing is ubers material IMO.

What if I want to run more than 1 SmashPasser or DryPasser in the same team?
Collateral damage is inevitable this way.
I say just ban Scolipede since that's the reson BP chains got out of control.

You don't need ALL of them at once deal with stall. Most successful team already carry something like Taunt Heatran to deal with stall.

It's because Crobat itself is not that great. It might beat baton pass 1v1 most of the time, but it can't really do much against anything else. Even then, it can still lose to certain forms of neo-BP.

Haze Quagsire gets PP-stalled by Baton Pass and can't do much back to it, which is why in practice, it's not a solid counter.

Scarf terrakion could very easily demolish deniss' old team (pre-nerf), along with any offensive mon with roar, yet most smogonfags keep saying that only "obscure mons" can counter a well built BP team. Why can't they just accept that deniss is a better player? He's the only one that tops the ladder with these teams, everyone else pretty much fails.

The only solution is to ban deniss tbh

Haze gengar works if used as an offensive mon as opposed to support, same as greninja. It forces you to give up a coverage move for haze so smogonfags will complain thats its "suboptimal" yet it makes you not lose to BP.

Item clause sorta fucks over BP thanks to residual damage and only one mon having leftovers, 2 since scolipede can use black sludge but most run mental herb.

I know most BP teams have mons that can learn wish but its still 2 trusn they have to spend not boosting.

And by attack you mean stored power, which gets blocked by dark types.
Forcing another switch to sylveon
Which is racking up more residual damage via hazards/weather/status/incoming attacks
With no leftovers recovery
Which then gets a switch to a special wall, which means turns needing to be used to buff sp.atk attack, Or another switch to espeon, residual damage, switch to dark type, yadda yadda.
BP teams offensively are usually limited to water/fairy/psychic attacks. Hell is there even a common physical attacking move on most BP teams?

Plus if they decide to sub, they're down 25% and suddenly don't magically get in back in 2 turns.

Tyranitar can be a pain for BP users
First turn, you're either looking at it throwing up rocks or attacking.
If you switch espeon in to block the rocks you could eat a crunch
If you don't you're facing hazards
And if you've lead with scolipede you're facing a possible stone edge.

And remember the guy was mention that if item clause was implemented only one pokemon would have leftovers.

And then you have to consider that tyranitar learns roar as well, though I don't see it used as often on tyranitar.

You Haze the BP team, they'll need to restart from X Pokemon, you'll just backswitch. They cannot afford to lose more HP except those they did waste to set up and pass. Any average Pokemon can nail their team after a Haze to the point they won't have the possibility to successfully pull another chain after a second or third Haze.

The only rare offensive presence in BP chains that has more than 1 attack is Discharge/Heatwave Zapdos and it has no offensive investment.

Anyway don't post reasonable logic and well known answers in here, it's not like vp's smogon biased users will accept the truth. They're like Smogon admins, just prefer having banned something that easily beats them because they don't bother to build a decent team.

I say they should bring the number down to two, not one. Three pokes still gives you the 'Scoli/Espe/Sylve plus whatever you want to pass to.

My biggest issue with BP chains is that people act like they're brutally broken in anyone's hand, but that isn't any more true than DeoSharp.
BP chains are only so terrifying because Denisssssssssssssss is an excellent player, and even people who try to copy him can't properly use those teams.

Also, didn't these bans come too quickly? The metagame barely had time to adapt and the banhammer already came.

Well, pretty much the only thing that has a chance of winning against a properly played BP team is HO with Haze support. Using the excuse that only Deniss could properly use BP is shitty, since given enough time, people can practice and get used to the tempo that BP requires, thus making it a more prevalent and centralizing playstyle. I say centralizing since you either don't run any form of stall, or you carry Haze Quagsire. I don't think anyone can argue that the need for Rapid Spin before Defog became useful was a good thing, and that is what Haze would become.

It's more like "I used this team and it's fucking stupid." Cause multiple people, not just Denisss, have used a team that is or is similar to pic related and got near the top of the ladder with almost no effort.

I know no here will actually try and see, and are just retarded people who either don't play competitive or only play with "muh bros" below 1200 ELO, but pic related is really fucking stupid and I bet almost no one here has actually a). faced a team like this, or b). used a team like this.

I've made so many baton passes rage quit, especially Scolipede users, with my Aggron as a lead. Disclaimer: I am a pretty shitty player on Showdown, I don't know how shit stacks up in higher OU ranks yet.

I let them set up while I throw down rocks and paralyze them. I get almost 100% perfect prediction with Dragon Tail, and watch as the baton receiver gets phazed out the moment they touch the field. I've also ruined a few people's fun with Thunder Wave + Iron Head's flinch rate.

He didn't say that though. Deniss was and still is the best player on the game, he found a team strategy that worked and people copied him. Although he was still better, if they ban it again it will be interesting to see what strategy he comes up with next though.

He topped the ladder. This does not mean he is the best player in the game, especially when there are a good number of tourney players that can top the ladder with basically whatever sort of team they want but don't because laddering is a huge chore.
