OK so it's not one of the main series games, but it's still one of the better spin-offs.

I'm assuming Card Pop won't work anymore (it's not as if any of us ever did it more than twice anyway), but it still will be good to replay.

Is there any chance of a localisation of the sequel if this sells well enough?

Haunter and Gengar in the game were broken as fuck due to no weakness and Haunter putting people to sleep at will, and Gengar's power and attack. FUCKING BTFO.

I'll definitely buy it, but I'm not as excited as I would be if it were a mainline game. That being said, I prefer to play them on the original consoles, anyway (which is why I've been buying the older games lately).

Not necessarily. It's nowhere near as simple as "they both have IR ports". There will need to be a significant amount of reprogramming, and that's IF the GBC emulator is allowed access to the 3DS IR port, which I doubt.

Look at the PS2 game Duel of Roses. Had nothing to do with the rules of the card game.

Supposedly there's a game with a reasonable customizing and a handful of cards from the latest version of a TCG. Are you telling me most won't go for that, especially if it features multiplay function?

But there are free programs for Magic that have a much more extensive list of supported cards. MTG Forge has almost every single card programmed. Unfortunately it doesn't offer multiplayer yet, but the point is WotC is just shitty.

There are also a few other MTG applications with multiplayer that have all of the cards but with no/minimal rule enforcement, too.

Rotation battles are a thing, they could make another type where staying in is promoted and switching is penalized. There could be a format where there are limited amounts of switches so you have to use them more strategically, or a format where movepower is multiplied by 1.25 (or take CH damage) on pokemon that switched in to signify that they might have been caught off guard. Idk, just an idea. It's just funny to me that the card game has a penalty for switching and the game doesn't.
