>>19905572Because Unova is based loosely on the North Eastern states of the USA, which while lovely, is a terrible, terrible idea for a pokemon game. The rockies, Phoenix, Washington State would have been lovely due to the combination of cities AND cool scenery.
The story is odd, it implies that lots of stuff happened previously (such as Alder taking over from a different champ, N's princesses, the war of the kings), but there's no impact, consequences, or details of these events.
The starters were... unusual. It seems like they couldn't make their mind up about what to make Nobunaga the seal statwise, Jalorda is unremarkable in every aspect apart from it's design, and Baconmeister gets punished by every damn elite four member, and half the gym leaders.
