Can a 100 base stat boost mega even put metagross in OU? If so, how would the boost have to be distributed?

Speed speed SPEED holy crap speed. That's the main thing this bad boy lacks. Bullet Punch can't save him forever.
Allocate the rest in physical attack and defenses, to be sure, but he really needs that speed buff.

I highly doubt the meta has a place for mega metagross. Mega charizard y pretty much assures that. He is too slow and even if he got technician for a priority bullet punch it's not going to grant him a place on any team.

But hey, UU and NU need some more megas.

Idk, at 70, it would need quite a boost to outspeed much of the meta at baseline. That said, if you actually want to go fast, 70 (especially with a +10 to 80) is more than enough to get incredibly swift with an agility set.

That said, I'm really hoping for 40+ in attack and a big boost to its defenses. With the right ability and a bit of luck with tutor moves, it could wreck a lot of face. Something like filter to help it deal with its weaknesses would be a big help, for instance.

With agility or rock polish, it could potentially kill it 9 out of 10 times using rock slide assuming that the charizard was switching in/trying to revenge kill

Perhaps +35 Atk, +25 Def, +45 SpD, -5 Spe, for an 80/170/155/95/135/65 spread, and then with Analytic, to capitalize on his huge attack and his low speed, while being able to tank hits from both sides of the attacking spectrum.

Except for Charizard and Lucario, they got both things and more.

Watch gamefreak add a primal mega evolution for Charizard and Lucario while Mega Metagross gets Light Metal and all the stat boosts dumped in Sp Atk and Defense.

Given that he's huge and made of metal, he should be able to tank some hits. Considering the fact that he can't be Knocked Off, he actually has really good defensive capabilities, even in OU. A great counter to M-Venusaur.

He'd need support, but he could brute force mid-game pretty damn well. Not to mention, he has a decent movepool and could Magnet Rise to avoid CoverageQuake.

Analytic offers more reliable and safer attacking potential because all you have to do to get the boost is outslow the opponent. Whereas Download would egg you on to run mixed if you want to take advantage of the boost and possibly miss out on some sweet KOs.

It can also further slow itself via Hammer Arm and hopefully Curse someday

Main problem with wanting a boost that could put it in OU is you have to ask how you can boost Metagross so it's a better choice than Aegislash with the similarities in their play style, resists and stats. Except Aegislash has better resists and moves every single time.

Personally I like his current ability in how it plays out with its design, so for a mega, I think it should be an advanced version of Clear Body. So for his mega I would say give him Magic Bounce.

There's a few advantages Megagross could have over Aegislash. Metagross, being an older pokemon, has a much larger movepool with more supportive moves like Rocks and attack moves like EQ.

Also, consider that Knock Off stays at 65 bp instead of rising to 95, meaning it can take on things like Bisharp and Conkeldurr without getting killed as often.
