Going by Japanese release dates:
2009: HGSS
2010: BW
2011: Nothing
2012: BW2
2013: XY
2014: ORAS
The only break they've had was inbetween BW1 and BW2, and that is because it wasn't a typical third version, they redesigned a sizable chunk of the game.
2015 will be Z and 2016 will be Gen VII. If you think that Nintendo aren't going to try and squeeze us out of our yen, you haven't been paying attention.
