And it has always happened. Pretty much every person in VGC gens, uses Pokecheck or RNG abuses to get their pokemon, because it saves time and what you get is no different from what you would have gotten if you had done it the "right" way. Literally the ONLY difference between Ray's Aegislash and a legit Aegislash (or Aegislash whose mother was not in a DB) was that the hacking was visible cause it didn't have a legal pokeball animation.
I can pretty much guarantee you that most of the pokemon in that tourney were probably genned/modified. Or if they weren't, they were bred using a 6 IV Ditto, or at the absolute, very least, trained with genned wings and candies. Only reason Ray is getting flak is because people could tell it wasn't legal.
