Nearly flipped when I saw and caught this shiny. Haven't found one personally since... But I haven't actually put in effort trying to make it happen either. Now I have a beautiful Flygon, no fucks given about the stats/nature (it was wild, after all).

My first shiny was a Ditto in Gold. I remember being aware of wild shinies and thinking a shiny Ditto might be able to breed more shinies for some reason, so I spent a lot of time looking for one and it surprisingly did raise the chances.

My first random shiny was an Azurill right at the start of X and I love that thing. Had a good nature and 4 perfect IVs with 29 SpD. Wrong ability, but that ended up being okay thanks to ability capsules. Right after that I found a shiny Psyduck in the same area.

First one I encountered was a shiny totodile in Gold version because for some reason being a stupid kid thought that breeding a team of feraligatr was super fucking cool.

Second encounter was a shiny wingull in sapphire caught it without doing any damage to it because I was scared of crits.

Third and final encounter with a shiny was in platnium I caught a machop in the route above oreburgh

About a year ago I caught my first shiny Zubat playing an Emerald emulator on my phone. I had to research why he was brown and sparkled like a faggot when he appeared. I thought I was just seeing shit but caught him anyways as he was the first Zubat I saw that game. Had it not been, I'd have killed it and moved on. A friend told me later what it was.

Obviously discounting Gyarados, my first Shiny was a Ledyba, from the Emerald Safari Zone. I was so pumped when I saw it, and I'm so glad I caught it. He was my bro, and I would've sent him up to Gen IV if my brother hadn't overwritten my file.

The next one I found and the oldest one I still have was a shiny Larvitar in the HG Safari Zone, and I was so fucking pumped when I caught it. She was Adamant to boot. Still have her in my X.

First non-Gyarados shiny was a Girafarig back in Gold. I noticed the sparkles and didn't quite know what it meant. It was the first Girafarig I'd seen so I wanted to catch it anyway and was successful. I later confirmed its shiny status, but I hardly used it.

I've encountered/caught 3 wild shinies since then, all on my HeartGold file.
