Does trading count as catching? I would have to assume so for shit like trade evos and starters you can't get on your game without hacking.
If I had every single Gen I Pokemon caught on a gen I cart, every Gen II on a Gen II, etc. all the way up to Gen VI, would that count as catching them all? Or would I have to trade them all forward to the most recent generation?
Does breeding Pokemon count as "catching" them? So could I get, like, a Seaking in my game and then breed a Goldeen to "catch" it?
I already have a full dex in Y, and am going for a living dex in X, so these are just idle curiosities for when gen VII is announced.
Also, how long is the waiting period between gen VII being released and people being banned for not catching them all? Because on release, technically nobody would have caught them all yet, but I doubt moot would just outright close vp for a week or 2.
